2023 school calendar Kenya. The Ministry of Education has released the third term school calendar for the 2023 National Examinations.
Because of the final tests, schools will close earlier than normal during the third term this year.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education’s Basic Education Principal Secretary, all schools will begin exams on October 30.

The third term for the 2023 academic year began on August 28th, 2023, and is scheduled to last until October 27th, 2023, in order to prepare for the upcoming national examinations season.
Additionally, he advised all schools administrators to avoid carrying out any activities in school with parents.
Schools are completely prohibited from participating in activities such as prayers day, visiting, and even having a motivational speaker for exams.
The ps asserts that the government is dedicated to ensuring that third-term learning is not interrupted.
To guarantee that the calendar runs well, he further stated that the government will pay all required capitation monies to schools.
Government funding for education
The National Treasury has paid the Ministry of Education Ksh16,249,982,722.28 billion in capitation payments to students in :
- public Primary,
- Junior, and
- Secondary institutions.
According to PS Kipsang, junior secondary schools will receive Ksh1.75 billion in capitation money, while free primary education will receive Ksh1.56 billion.
At the same time, Free Day Secondary Education will get Ksh12.9 billion in capitation.
