Blow to 2022 Knec examiners after KNEC announces the following regarding their payments

knec updates.Because it hasn’t received enough money to pay its 2022 examiners and invigilators, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is currently in the red.

The National Treasury has only given the Council a total of Sh. 675 million to pay the instructors who administered and graded the national exams.

 

The 2023 exam supervisors, invigilators, and markers cannot be paid until September.

Budgetary restrictions are to blame, according to the Ministry of Education, for the nonpayment of wages to examiners and invigilators hired to oversee national exams given by KNEC.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has until August to clear the payments.

According to Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, who spoke before the House Education Committee on Tuesday of last week.

Belio also said directed that the 1Billion shillings required to pay the 40,000 teachers Must be included in the budget.

“The ministry requires one billion shillings to pay teachers who marked exams; we have until August to pay the teachers,” he explained.

Examiners who had planned to get their compensation prior to the conclusion of the 2022–23 fiscal year on June 30 have their dreams dashed by the recent discovery.

The Senate demanded an explanation from KNEC over the nonpayment of instructors who watched, supervised, and assessed the 2022 national Examination as the Kispsang committee appeared.
