Simultaneously, the county administration established a new level of employee at this basic education level – the Ward Education Supervisor.
They will be degree holders in charge of overseeing ECDE activities in each of the thirty Wards.

County governor Dr. Eric Mutai highlighted that ECDE teachers have long faced an unfair and unclear working environment, with meager salaries despite their fundamental work.

He stated that the newly upgraded group included 613 diploma holders, 483 certificate holders, and 39 degree holders.
He guaranteed that ECDE teachers would never again go months without compensation, and

He was concerned, however, that only 64 of the total number confirmed were men.
“There appears to be a misconception that ECDE is a female-dominated field.”

Those present, including his fellow governor Moses Badilisha of Nyandarua and Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, praised the governor’s daring move.
He further encouraged the Council of Governors (CoG) to apply terms uniformly across all 47 counties.
