Judiciary jobs October 2023. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has begun the process of recruiting 20 High Court judges to improve justice administration in the country.
In a gazette notice dated September 27, Chief Justice Martha Koome declared the offices vacant.5

According to Kenya’s Salaries and Remuneration Commission rules,
The gross monthly remuneration package for the vacant jobs, without benefits, is Ksh657,426 to Ksh1,000,974.
Qualifications
An applicant must have a law degree from a recognized university,
Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, or
Have an equivalent qualification in a Common-law jurisdiction to be considered for the position.
Other requirements include at least ten years of experience as a superior court judge or
A professionally certified magistrate, ten years of experience as a notable academic or legal practitioner, or
such experience in another relevant legal sector.
Applicants must also be of good moral character and meet the standards of Chapter Six of the Constitution, which deals with Leadership and Integrity.
Koome emphasized the importance of applicants
- demonstrating professional competence,
- communication skills
- fairness,
- good temperament,
- good judgment,
- extensive legal and life experience, and
- a commitment to public and community service.
