The Ministry of Education has prohibited students from applying for university places while still in school, a customary practice until now.
Under the new funding formula for universities and colleges, students are required to make their selections after completing the KCSE exams.
The Basic Education PS Bellio Kipsang stated, “Applicants will make choices based on cost per program as published in the KUCCPS online application system,
following the introduction of a new funding model.”

Applications were previously carried out through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal.
