A good number of teachers are decrying the long marking hours they are subjected into.
For instance, teachers marking the KCSE 2022 examination marked the papers from 4am to late 10pm in the night.
Why can’t we work as from 8 to 5pm as other government officials do?, a teacher asked.
The teacher requested that Knec reconsider the working hours or consider providing overtime pay for the extra hours.
Other teachers are demanding marking rates be reviewed upward to provide the necessary motivation for the examiners.
