KNEC NEW CHANGES 2023.Deputy primary school headteachers will now be required to remain on the school premises during the KCPE and KPSEA examination period, as part of a new regulation.
Additionally, they will no longer be involved in invigilating or supervising national examinations, a duty previously assigned to them.
This change has been implemented in response to widespread malpractices, including cheating, observed in previous national exams.
The role of the deputy headteachers during this period will be to support their headteachers and
ensure the smooth operation of school programs while headteachers handle the examination papers in containers.
Furthermore, deputies will assist in overseeing students after the exams have concluded.
