Buhere emphasized that the school calendar remains unchanged, with official communications solely emanating from the Ministry of Education and its official social media channels.
This statement from the Ministry of Education comes in response to assertions from the Education News Arena, which alleged that the ministry had revised the closing date to October 19.

Rather than the previously stated date of October 27 by the ministry, emphasizing the significance of this term due to upcoming national examinations, which does not include a mid-term break.
In January, the Ministry of Education adjusted the 2023 school calendar, modifying the duration of the national exams.
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will take place from November 30 to November 2 and from November 3 to November 24, respectively, with KCSE marking starting on November 27 and concluding on December 15.
