Dr. Nancy Macharia . In 1963, Dr. Nancy Njeri Macharia was born in Murang’a.She is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Secretary of the TSC.
She succeeded Gabriel Lengoiboni, who retired on June 30th, 2015.

Ms Macharia is the ninth Commission Secretary/CEO, succeeding Mr Jesse Muhoro (1967–1974),
Mr James Kamunge (1974–1977), Mr Duncan Mwangi (1978–1980), Mr Joseph Lijembe (1980–1982), Mr Jackson Kang’ali (1982–1998), Mr Benjamin Sogomo (1998–2003), Mr James Ongwae (2003–2004), and her predecessor, Mr Gabriel K Lengoiboni.
She has a Master of Education (Policy and Management) degree from Bristol University in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Education (English/Literature) degree from Kenyatta University.

After earning a Bachelor of Education in English/Literature from Kenyatta University in 1987,
she began working at Kahuhia Girls’ Secondary in Murang’a,
where she stayed for five years before being appointed to deputy head teacher at Kianderi Girls’ Secondary in the same county.
Mrs. Macharia is credited with automating teacher services, which made life easier.
Tpay (Payroll), Leave, Casualty (Entry/Exit), TPAD, EDMS, and Wealth Declaration are examples of automated services.
President Uhuru Kenyatta bestowed the Order of Grand Warrior on her in 2014 for her contributions to development both inside and outside the workplace.

She was part of the team that oversaw TSC’s national integrated data system,
Including negotiating and obtaining funding from the World Bank.
Mrs. Macharia is considered as having a hand in the death of their union’s Knut,
orchestrating Wilson Sossion’s expulsion, and establishing a puppet leadership.
Ms. Macharia’s passions include traveling, the gym, music, farming, and supporting the less fortunate.
Dr. Nancy Macharia will retire on June 10, 2025, after serving as TSC CEO for ten years (two five-year periods).
