TSC payslip online. After the government approved a 7-10% increase in net compensation, civil servants will receive slightly updated pay rise.
The government will apply the levies created by the Finance Act of 2023, as well as the new monthly wage, retroactively.
Civil servants will be obliged to pay more taxes on their newly increased salary in the months of July and August 2023.

For example, a government employee earning Ksh100,000 per month will now have to pay :
Ksh1,500 in housing taxes and
Ksh880 to Ksh2,400 in NSSF contributions.

According to a KNBS report dated May 2022, teachers get an average monthly income of Ksh61,843.
On an average gross salary of Ksh61,843, a teacher employed by the (TSC) is liable to a PAYE deduction of Ksh10,417.25.
People are subject to PAYE if they work and make at least Ksh24,000 each month.
Every business, both domestic and foreign, that pays emoluments to its employees must abide by this regulation.
- Educators will be required to contribute Ksh360.00 to both the National Social Security Funds (NSSF Tier I) and
- the National Social Security Funds (NSSF Tier II).
In addition, the teacher will pay a 1.5 percent housing charge,
- or Ksh928 depending on total salary,
- as well as Ksh1,300.00 to the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
After deductions of Ksh13,725.25, a teacher earning Ksh61,843 in gross salary will receive Ksh48,117.75 in net pay.
Due to the permitted deductions of Ksh1,080, the taxable salary for the same period will be Ksh60,763.00.
