These educators were originally recruited by TSC as primary school teachers but have now met the necessary qualifications to teach in middle schools.
To secure a position in a college, TSC must publicly advertise the available positions.

The essential prerequisites for this deployment include being a primary school teacher affiliated with TSC,
achieving at least passing scores in two subjects taught at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or an equivalent qualification,
attaining a C+ average in Kenya’s KCSE secondary education certificate or an equivalent, and
earning a minimum of 8 credits in both of the subjects they teach.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) program, the TSC Executive Director is responsible for monitoring the teachers at their new assignments.
In the context of recent educational reforms associated with the CBC curriculum,
Junior Secondary School (JSS) learners are required to study a minimum and a maximum of two subjects from various groups,
These subjects include :
- visual and performing arts,
- family science,
- information technology,
- foreign languages like German, French, Mandarin, Arabic, Kenyan Sign Language (KSL), and native languages.
This program follows a consistent format with a designated time of 40 minutes allocated to each course.
The distribution of lessons for high school programs includes subjects like
English (5 lessons),
Math (5 lessons),
Pre-engineering (4 lessons),
Kiswahili/KSL (4 lessons),
Science integration (4 lessons),
Sociology (3 lessons),
Business research (3 lessons),
Agriculture (3 lessons),
Religious education (IRE, CRE, and HRE – 3 lessons),
Physical education and sports (2 courses),
life skills education (1 lesson),
Choose 1 (3 lessons), and 0option 2 (3 lessons), amounting to a total of 45 lessons in all.
