According to TSC Chairperson Dr Jamleck Muturi, there are open slots available to replace instructors who left due to natural attrition.
Muturi told the press at Tambach Teachers Training College in Elgeyo Marakwet County that the government will prioritize locations with teacher shortages while recruiting and deploying teachers.
He stated that the administration is striving to expand the number of instructors in schools in order to boost learning quality in all government institutions.

“Nationally, we have a deficit of about 100,000 teachers, but the government is always giving us the opportunity to recruit 5,000 teachers every year,” he explained.
Muturi advised various players in the school sector in Elgeyo Marakwet to collaborate in order to attain quality education across the county.

The TSC president stated that the commission is working to establish a welcoming environment for both students and instructors.
