One of the committee’s main suggestions is that an officer should only be able to act for up to 12 months before the job must be declared vacant and then filled through a competitive hiring procedure.
This regulation ensures greater openness and fairness in the distribution of these allowances.
This is done by prohibiting anyone from receiving acting allowances after the predetermined 12-month period.
