TSC new recruitment portal. The Kenyan constitution delegated authority to the Teachers Service Commission to:
- register teachers,
- hire teachers,
- promote teachers,
- transfer teachers, and
- pay teachers’ salaries.
The TSC CEO has been pushing for funds to address the teachers’ shortfall while boasting about instructors being promoted from their present job groups to the following job groups.
The commission has also made a concerted effort to raise financing to support teacher compensation increases in Kenyan primary and secondary schools.
Despite all of this, TSC had provided wonderful news to the instructors.
Earlier this year, all educators hired as interns between 2019 and the present were confirmed to permanent and pensionable terms.
Furthermore, the Teachers Service Commission, the teachers’ employer, revealed in February of this year that it had hired approximately 20,000 intern teachers for both junior high and primary schools.

These teachers were hired as part of the organization’s attempts to oversee the competency-based curriculum (CBC) in junior high schools, which is the country’s new educational system.
Some of the aforementioned teachers were hired on permanent, pensionable contracts, while others were on internship contracts.
According to commission reports, all intern teachers employed in February will be turned into permanent employees with pension rights by the end of the year.
Letters advising current serving JSS and primary interns of their confirmation for the long-term pensionable terms will be delivered to them prior to the start of the next year.
