TSC new teaching requirements
CEO Nancy Macharia argues that the recommended entry grades are not aligned with the existing registration requirements under the TSC framework, which would lead to the discontinuation of the subject cluster approach.
The TSC insists that setting entry requirements is within its constitutional mandate and that the PWPER did not consider their input on critical teaching service matters.
Nancy Macharia warns that implementing the recommendations may compromise the Commission’s independence.
In essence, the government is moving forward with changes to entry qualifications for Teacher Training Colleges,
This decision is met with opposition from the Teachers Service Commission, raising concerns about the potential impact on their constitutional mandate and independence.
