TSC OCS training to begin next week. Here are the training venues, payments and dates per county 2023

TSC news on OCS. Teachers from all around the country have expressed a strong desire to apply for available posts in the newly established Office of Career Services (OCS) in schools.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced plans to give training for educators responsible for providing career counselling within their particular schools in a circular dated August 16, 2023.

Many TSC County Directors have already followed a TSC memo requiring them to assist school principals in establishing an Office of Career Services (OCS) at their schools and appointing a teacher to coordinate OCS activities.

According to the Commission, schools must choose a teacher to oversee the Office of Career Services.

RE: CAREER SERVICES OFFICE

In accordance with Executive Order No. 1 of 2021, the State Department of Labour and Skills Development is tasked with overseeing actor skill development and establishing and managing the institutional framework for linking industry skill development and training.

In accordance with its mandate, the Department is devoted to fostering career advice in order to reduce skill mismatches,

improve school-to-work transitions,

employability, and labor mobility,

and reintegrate marginalized and at-risk populations into education and labor-market services.

In this regard, the Department has created the National Policy Framework as well as Career Services Offices.

Community Service Learning (CSL) is taught in accordance with the curriculum.

This should be distributed to all institution administrators, with input provided to the County Directors office by September 10th, 2023.

All training venues and dates per county will be communicated to everyone by subcounty TSC directors.

Payments of the officers will be communicated later on.
