TSC promotion B5 to C1. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) quickly revised the grading system for primary and secondary school teachers after signing the sh 54 billion Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) 2017 to 2025 with the three teachers unions.
TSC used the Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) to grade and promote instructors to different grades.
According to the Commission, CPGs are specific modalities that allow the Commission to implement CBAs.
PROMOTION OF TEACHERS GRADE B5 TO C1
The only grade identified among primary school instructors is B5.
Grade B5, also known as Primary Teacher II, is the T-Scale 5 admission grade for all primary school teachers.
This category includes all freshly hired teachers.
The newly hired primary school teacher will begin in job group B5.
After three years, a teacher in Grade B5 will be automatically promoted to Grade C1.
According to CPG, no further coursework or interviews are required for teachers to be promoted from B5 to C1.
To be automatically transferred to C1, one simply needs to have served for three years in B5.
PROMOTION OF TEACHERS GRADE C1 TO C2
Teachers in primary school who have spent three years in Grade B5 are automatically promoted to Grade C1.
Primary teachers in Grade C1 are also known as Primary Teachers I and are classified as T-Scale 6.
Promotion from Grade C1 to C2 primary school teachers is not automatic.
TSC promotion B5 to C1
In fact, in elementary school, Grade C2 is assigned to Senior Teachers and is referred to as Senior Teacher I.
C2 is a promotion grade for elementary school teachers.
It is also a rung on the administrative ladder.
Entry into this grade is competitive, and vacancies are limited.
To be promoted from Grade C1 to Grade C2, a primary school teacher must apply online when TSC posts an advertisement.
He/she must also have served in Grade C1 for at least three years and have the requisite qualifications, which include a Diploma.
Teachers in C1, ASAL, and hard to staff areas who have been issued with letters to act are typically confirmed and promoted on the basis of affirmative action at promotion interviews.
Diploma instructors begin in high school with Grade C1.
Secondary school teachers with diplomas are automatically hired into this grade.
Secondary school diploma instructors in Grade C1 will automatically advance to Grade C2 after three years of service.
Please keep in mind that all instructors in ASAL and hard to staff regions are promoted through affirmative action.
PROMOTION OF TEACHERS GRADE C2 TO C3
It is also an entry-level position in the administrative cadre.
Entry into this grade is not automatic, but rather competitive and dependent on the availability of vacancies.
To be appointed to this grade, one must have worked as a Primary Teacher I in T-Scale 6 for at least three years.
After teaching for at least three years and undergoing promotion interviews,
TSC promotion B5 to C1
Senior Teachers II in grade C2 can be promoted to Senior Teachers I in grade C3.
Grade C2 is also the admission grade for Graduate Teachers in secondary school.
TSC hires all secondary school teachers with a bachelor’s degree and places them in this grade.
