Note~its clear that more emphasis has been placed on performance at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results. Teachers who have recorded a mean score of 11 and above will now earn a maximum of 20 marks.
The performance for the last 3 years and improvement index depends on the category of school, entering behaviour of student and the community of the sch. There are localities where parents do not support schools. They do not even collect KNEC certificates. Kindly order for return of all unclaimed KCSE KNEC Certificates ( for the last 3yrs and beyond) back to KNEC so that KNEC Exams can prove meaningful. With100% transition students only attend sch. during examination season.”One cannot take a donkey to the river and force it to drink water. The donkey will only take water if it’s willing and also thirsty.” So to some schools performance and improvement index are like Cancer in the bones of a teacher; “a disease without cure!”
