TSC publishes a list of teachers who will not be promoted-September 2023

TSC promotion list 2023. This week, at least 1,500 school administrators who sought for promotion, underwent interviews and were awaiting promotion letters received a nasty awakening.

Teachers received regret letters from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) instead of promotion letters.

TSC claims that 1,300 of the teachers who received letters of regret still have a chance to apply.

It is not apparent why the Commission cancelled their appointments yet they were confirmed and shortlisted following interviews in respective counties.

Unfortunately, some acting teachers who were hoping to be confirmed lost out.

When a promotion advertisement is published, TSC has instructed the teachers to reapply for the vacancies.

After the education task force recommended that the Ministry of Education handle the teacher promotion task

 It is unclear if TSC will take on the next teacher promotion issue.

3,359 public schools, according to TSC data, do not have head teachers.

There are 1,918 public elementary schools with no principals and 1,441 senior schools with no principals.

A total of 3359 schools countrywide do not have enough school heads.

This is a result of the government seeking to bring changes in the education sector.

In December 2022, TSC advertised 14,738 promotion posts before they were later canceled.

The canceling also happened in January, March, and May after teachers failed to apply.

Most of the teachers who attended the promotion interviews in March were posted to their respective counties.

TSC CEO has blamed teachers for failing to apply for the advertised promotion posts in some counties.

The TSC chief stated that the commission published 14,738 openings earlier this year for the promotion of teachers to different grades to cover positions arising from natural attrition.

However, only 11,231 teachers were absorbed with 3,507 posts lacking qualified applicants. A total of 1,021 positions were reserved for affirmative action teachers.

TSC advertised for the position of chief principal, principal, deputy principal, senior master, headteacher, deputy headteacher and senior teacher for both regular and special schools.
