Good news to all Teachers recruited in May as President Ruto directs TSC to do the following

TSC Salaries payments 2023. Primary and secondary school teachers who were hired and assigned to schools in May will begin receiving their first salaries in July.

The teachers are added to the payroll by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and immediately receive their salaries.

However, this depends on when the teacher fills out the online causality in the TSC portal.

The cost of hiring will be Sh4.7 billion. The maximum tenure for intern teachers is two years, according to Macharia.

To ease teachers’ employment criteria the senate directed TSC to come up with open criteria to enable the commission hire more teachers.

As the TSC CEO appeared before the senate she provided clarification on teacher hiring and transfers she said these;

TSC must employ all teachers on an internship basis.

Additionally, this will help address t shortage that TSC estimates to be 111,810.

After a year, each of these teachers must receive permanent confirmation.

Although the commission hired 36,000 new teachers earlier this YEAR,

According to Mrs. Macharia, there is still a shortfall of instructors in primary schools (47,339) and high schools (64,541).

Mrs. Macharia disclosed last week that the 20,000 teachers hired in February for internship terms have to wait until January 2025.

To boost enrollment at junior secondary schools (JSS), TSC wants to hire 20,000 extra teachers.

Next month July, TSC sets to announce the employment of teachers on contract.

However, with this employment, the number of teachers still remains insufficient.

The cost of hiring will be Sh4.7 billion.

Changing the recruitment criteria policy by the commission to permanent and pensionable, TSC requires more money to hire additional teachers.

TSC CEO added further that all teachers’ employment to replace those quitting due to natural attrition is permanent.
