TSC salary and allowances. In Kenya, job categories are often categorized based on an employee’s level of education, skill set, and certification.
The Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC) determines and reviews job groups and pay for public employees.
SRC was established in 2011 under the Salaries and Remuneration Act of 2011, and among other things, it also assures equity and justice in the public sector.
Its chair at the moment is Lyn Cherop Mengich.
In Kenya, more than 7,000 public employees are employed in one of the job groups that SRC harmonizes, which comprises:
Job Group/grade B1
The lowest occupational group in Kenya consists of unskilled workers. They are made up of the following: Officer III, Operator III, Attendant III, and Support Staff. The compensation for this category ranges from Sh11,553 to Sh14,442.
Job Group/grade B2
This group encompasses both skilled and entry-level supervisory personnel. The wage range for job group B2 is between Sh14,007 and Sh17,508.
Job Group/grade B3
Between Sh16,777 and Sh20,972 is the basic salary for this group.
Job Group /grade B4
This group, which was formerly known as Group G, is made up of skilled employees who receive a basic salary of between Sh19,859 and Sh24,823.
Job Group/grade B5
Most top executives and senior experts (heads of institutions) work in this capacity for the government, and they are paid between Sh23,176 and Sh28,970 a month.

Job Group/grade C1
Despite the fact that they are not highly skilled, workers in this group are paid more, ranging from Sh28,970 to Sh39,110.
Job Group/grade C2
These employees, known as group K, earn between Sh36,411 and Sh47,373.
Job Group/grade C3
People who have some training before being absorbed earn between Sh44,898 and Sh56,326 per month.
Job Group/grade C4
Professionals in this grade can expect to make between Sh54,532 and Sh68,165 when they have more education and less work experience.
Job Group /grade C5
A sizeable portion of Kenya’s skilled labor falls under the job category C5, which has a salary range of Sh64,919 to Sh81,148.
Job Group/grade D1
Earnings range from Sh81,148 to Sh109,550 for category D1 individuals in this occupation category, the majority of whom hold entry-level management roles.

Job Group/grade D2
In the civil servant grading system, this is the eleventh level. Between Sh97,184 and Sh130,226 is the average salary for those in this group.
Job Group/grade D3
The pay for the managers range from Sh114,334 to Sh152,064.
Job Group/grade D4
These highly skilled professionals work largely in middle or high-level management and make between Sh132,178 and Sh174,425 per year.
Job Group/grade D5
These laborers earn some of Kenya’s highest wages. They are paid monthly in the range of Sh150,202 to Sh198,267.

Job Group/grade E1
This group is ranked third among the new SRC Kenya occupational classifications. Employees in the E1 category are paid between Sh198,267 and Sh257,747 per month.
Job Group/grade E2
Employees in job group E2 get the second highest pay, ranging from Sh221,508 to Sh282,954. Extensive levels of experience are necessary for the position.
Job Group/grade E4
The starting salary scale for job group E4 is between Sh292,765 and Sh576,120.
The employment category employs highly skilled and specialized employees with a high level of education and related work experience, the majority of whom have high-level managerial duties.
