Tsc teaching requirements 2023. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has implemented a ban on more than 20 Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree Teaching Courses, which has left teachers shocked.
Graduates who completed these courses and were seeking TSC registration will now need to seek employment opportunities elsewhere.
The most severely impacted individuals are graduates who specialized in subjects that are not currently included in the curriculum.
The Commission, in its Registration Guidelines for new teachers, stated,
“Applicants for registration whose training is in subjects that are currently NOT in the curriculum do not qualify irrespective of having undertaken a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement.”

It further clarified, “Those who have undertaken a PGDE with these courses are NOT eligible for registration as teachers.
These courses do not provide sufficient subject content, and therefore, the mastery of the content in two teaching subjects is not adequate as required.”
However, TSC did provide an exemption, stating that “Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree holders with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and two teaching subjects qualify for registration.”
This decision has created uncertainty and disappointment for many graduates who had invested significant resources in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
