TSC TIMEC training Circular. Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the teachers’ employer, has commenced teacher training exercises in various zones in their sub-counties around the country.
The commission intends to train teachers via the Teacher Induction Mentorship and Coaching (TIMEC) program.
The mentorship and coaching program, according to the commission, is intended to improve teacher performance in their areas of responsibility.
TSC expects at least one school principal, one deputy principal, and one teacher to attend the course.
Other sub-counties have yet to begin training, but it must be completed this week in all sub-counties.

Teachers who wish to go on this train must register with TSC headquarters in Nairobi.
TSC previously stated that teachers who typically participate in the mentorship program will have an advantage when promotion prospects come.
Teachers who successfully complete the TSC mentorship training will be awarded a certificate.
This can be produced during a recruitment interview for formality purposes because it offers them more credit.
To lead the initiative, the Commission has created a framework and policy.
According to the Commission, instructors who successfully complete the program will be eligible for a variety of rewards and incentives.

Teachers who participate will receive a certificate of completion of the mentorship and coaching program;
The advantage is that it is used in promotions, teacher appointment posts, or recognition incentives.
The teacher mentor and mentee will receive TPD points in accordance with the TPD policy framework and the career development standards.
The TIMEC is a structured teacher support program that emphasizes preventive strategies in the management of teacher professional conduct and performance.
TSC created the TIMEC program as part of a larger initiative to improve teachers’ professional ethics and practices.
The curriculum aims to :
- improve teachers’ competencies and abilities,
- as well as their understanding of the laws, regulations, policies, procedures, values, and
- norms that regulate the teaching profession.

A person who is guided and supported by a more experienced individual in the field of interest and area of competency building.
This aims at in promoting continuous personal development and realization of one’s full potential.
A specialist and an experienced person who seeks to pass skills, expertise and knowledge to a less experienced teacher.
The rationale of doing so is to foster the latter‘s career and personal development.
A mentor leads by example through his/her expertise or success.
